One Foot in Front of the Other

This is another episode of As Connor Sees It. Today I will be blogging about my great experience of being in "13 the Musical." I started off as never being in a play before, or a musical before. It didn't turn out as expected in the auditions. I wanted to play the part of Brett. But I accidentally got the part of Malcolm because it suited him better. Fortunately I got a solo. So my first practice, I walked into the school and I was completely new. The only thing that was familiar there was the theater, which I saw a few plays at, and the girl I've blogged about before, who I'll call Dori for privacy. I made a lot of friends. I won't say their names because it may invade their personal privacy.
The play was very good. I did not bomb. It was really fun and I wasn't scared. My mom was in the audience smiling the heck out of it. She was so proud of me and I'm so happy that she was.
But at one of my rehearsals was more exciting because for Valentine's Day I gave Dori a Valentine's gift. A heart with candy inside it, and a stuffed monkey. And then she jumped up and hugged me and we sat together at the rehearsal.
Days before the show, we were rehearsing one of the songs I sing, which is "Bad Bad News," which is one of the only solos I get. And at that time, I did not know it very well and I had a week to study it online. It was very scary at first but I just took it one step at a time.
On the night of the show I gave Dori flowers. They were yellow roses. We had an argument in the store because I wanted to get her red roses, but Mom insisted that we get yellow because yellow stands for friendship. I got the florist to do up the flowers really nice and put a purple bow on it and put baby breath all in it very nicely.
I think that's about it, folks. Next week I'll be blogging about the premiere of the new Bachelorette season. I have a lot to say about that.
