One Foot in Front of the Other

This is another episode of As Connor Sees It. Today I will be blogging about my great experience of being in "13 the Musical." I started off as never being in a play before, or a musical before. It didn't turn out as expected in the auditions. I wanted to play the part of Brett. But I accidentally got the part of Malcolm because it suited him better. Fortunately I got a solo. So my first practice, I walked into the school and I was completely new. The only thing that was familiar there was the theater, which I saw a few plays at, and the girl I've blogged about before, who I'll call Dori for privacy. I made a lot of friends. I won't say their names because it may invade their personal privacy.
The play was very good. I did not bomb. It was really fun and I wasn't scared. My mom was in the audience smiling the heck out of it. She was so proud of me and I'm so happy that she was.
But at one of my rehearsals was more exciting because for Valentine's Day I gave Dori a Valentine's gift. A heart with candy inside it, and a stuffed monkey. And then she jumped up and hugged me and we sat together at the rehearsal.
Days before the show, we were rehearsing one of the songs I sing, which is "Bad Bad News," which is one of the only solos I get. And at that time, I did not know it very well and I had a week to study it online. It was very scary at first but I just took it one step at a time.
On the night of the show I gave Dori flowers. They were yellow roses. We had an argument in the store because I wanted to get her red roses, but Mom insisted that we get yellow because yellow stands for friendship. I got the florist to do up the flowers really nice and put a purple bow on it and put baby breath all in it very nicely.
I think that's about it, folks. Next week I'll be blogging about the premiere of the new Bachelorette season. I have a lot to say about that.

The Big Trip

I have returned from E-town.

I saw Uncle Ryan and Aunt Kortni. We went to a waterfall and when we were driving out, it was time to drive back to Nana's house and I drove back with him in his car. He had a pit bull and the other dog, I don't know what kind of dog it was. Uncle Ryan is a Marine.

Speaking of military people, on the plane ride to E-town, I ran into a US Army guy, and he was coming back down the way to his seat, and I stopped him and said "Thank you for serving our country," and an hour later he came back and took off one of his pins and gave it to me! The military guy told us to look it up online and we think it is a combat infantry badge. Uncle Ryan said it was a real badge because he said they don't just have those to give out to people in the airport like plane wings from the flight attendant so it was a real military pin.

I got to see my friends but two of them weren't there, and two of them moved, and then two more of them moved in the middle of our trip. So it was kind of a bummer. At least I got to see the two people who moved before they left.

We took a trip to see my cousins and my aunt and uncle. Joshua is so much bigger than me now. He said he was proud of me because I played guitar for Grandmom and he saw the video. And he saw the video of my play and he said he was proud of me for that too. And we got to see Daddy's old play theater and there is a framed picture of him on the wall.

We saw Mammam and Pap, which was pretty neat. They moved out of their house which was pretty bumming to me and my mom but it was pretty cool in the new place. But the last day we came over there to say goodbye to them Pap wasn't very happy to see us. He said a curse word which he didn't do before he was sick so it is a reaction of his sickness. He has dementia which is a disease that makes him not remember a lot of things and he is always very confused. I feel very sad that he is sick. The last day we saw him wasn't a total bummer. When we came in he named all of us the correct way but then he started talking about his sister which was not true because she's dead. The good thing is that we have memories about the good things and the times when he wasn't sick and he was nice. I really liked that. He is still Pappap.

So just to wrap it up I just wanted to say that it was a very fun trip and I was glad to see my family, mostly Uncle Ryan and everyone else too. So this was the big trip and I hope you liked it. Tomorrow I will be blogging about my recent play called 13.

Live Blog of DWTS, Season 12

(Mom is typing in the interest of speed.)
8:04 There's always a football player. And the football players always do well. There's a boxer! Mom doesn't like boxers. The fighters, not the underwear.

8:06 Chelsea Kane was homeschooled! She's awesome!
She just kissed him. But just on the cheek. They're going to be this season's romance.
8:10 She's really good. She's very beautiful.Rory says they messed up. I say if they did mess up, I can't tell, but they're just beginners. Insulting judge Len, welcome back. Annoying Bruno, I agree. Happy Cheerful Carrie Ann, I agree with her always because she always gives good answers.
8:11 She's very touching. Wow, 7, 7, 7, that's good for beginners.

8:15 Wendy is going to be the new "jiggly parts" girl. I disagree with her.
8:16 I'm already predicting 6's. She's robotic and clunky.
8:19 The judges are already mad.
8:20 I love how Carrie Ann is so positive, but she still gives criticism.
8:22 Oh! 5-4-5! Those are Kate Gosselin scores!

8:25 I hate how on lipstick commercials they act like putting on lipstick is so sexy.

8:28 Hines Ward-- he wants to smash the mirror ball? I don't get it. Oh no, don't tell me this GUY is going to be the jiggly part man. He just said he wants to get jiggly. I hate that word. Oh geez, he looks like a leprechaun in that suit. But he is a good dancer. The football players always are.
8:30 Predicting at least 7-7-7.
8:31 Corey in the House IS IN THE HOUSE!

8:37 I'm getting better at predicting! 7-7-7!

8:39 Whoa. Petra was in a tsunami. I like her. Oh, this is really sad. She's very graceful. She's unlike a lot of supermodels. A lot of supermodels are more careless. Very classy and very just, nice.

8:42 Bruno hasn't changed. He is still annoying. Carrie Ann gave a pass for a lift!

8:44 Oh, looks like it's going to be the opposite this year. *I* am going to be the master at predicting scores instead of Mom.

8:49 Romeo's Dad was on DWTS. OK...this seems a little inappropriate. He's Romeo and the song says Romeo, that seems neat. I'm predicting 8-7-8. He's really good.
8:56 I was way wrong. But I'm rooting for Romeo. Vote Romeo!

9:02 It's the boxer!
9:04 This is weird. He's awesome, then bad, then awesome. Predicting 6-6-6.
9:06 My snack is here! Dad went to get us slushies! Taking a ten minute break.

9:13 Playboy Bunny. This is Dad's early favorite. I say she's good, but I'm still against the playboy bunny thing. Predicting 7-7-7.
9:16 Her partner said she's weird! You NEVER say that about a girl!

9:22 Ralph the Karate Kid. Awesome. I'm totally rooting for this guy. He's older than Dad and he doesn't look like it.
9:25 This guy is AWESOME.
9:26 Judges are excited.

9:31 8-8-8 That was really cool!I'm voting for the Karate Kid. He's my number one pick.

9:32 The wrestler. Mom is against wrestling too, but I think she should dislike the boxer more, because wrestling on TV is not real. This song was on Rock Band. Should I Stay or Should I Go? He just took off the sleeves to his shirt. He sucks. This is going to be the Margaret Cho of this season.

9:36 Judges are surprisingly kind.

9:37 He's acting like he thinks he's a professional when he is really bad. 7-6-6, very surprising to me.

9:43 Loveline, the guy from Loveline! That's the show that they had on the Bachelor! Mom really likes this guy. Because he's funny and handsome. I have to say, he's a little like Pinnochio. Made of wood.

9:47 Corey in the House, is STILL in the house!

9:52 5-4-4! OUCH!

9:55 She's good! She's 60! Predicting 8-8-8.
9:59 Wow.

Overall, I am rooting for Karate Kid.
